Blog posting is a fun method of having your say on any topic you have an opinion on. While most bloggers are quite happy to talk away blindingly, there are more business-minded people – lurking in the shadows. There are a couple of options open to you if you wish to make money with your blog. It is important to understand however, the effectiveness of your money making scheme is directly influenced by the quality of your blog. If it is poorly written, it will not attract readers. It will also become clear, the sole reason for you blog is to try to make money. To be successful, the moneymaking aspect of your blog must be concealed.
One way you can make money from your blog is by affiliate marketing. This is a selling method where you promote someone else’s product and earn money from the commission from sales. First, you would sign up to an affiliate program and search through their product database. Once you find a product you think you could successfully sell – you apply for an affiliate code. This code is a special link associated with both your affiliate account and the product you have chosen to sell. You will strategically place this link in your blog, and when someone clicks on the link, he or she will be sent to the product sales page. If a purchase is then completed – you will earn a percentage of that sale.
Affiliate marketing can be very successful; however, it is not the only way of making money with your blog. Some blogging sites offer a way of making residual income for the content you publish. First, you will have to sign up to such a site, you will then have to write and submit your content. You will then earn money whenever someone stumbles onto your page. The more visitors your page receives– the more residual income your account will be credited with. It is exceptionally difficult earning a living from residual income sites. You will have to write knowledgeably about popular subjects. Even then, you will only be earning around 1 cent per visitor, so you will have to get to work creating a mass of work before you earn anything of note.
As you can see, there are ways of making money online by writing. How much you earn however, is directly influenced by your productivity, quality of writing and choice of subject matter. If you feel this to be too much of a burden, feel free to continue blogging for fun. You do not want to start resenting something you once enjoyed.
